It depends on the individual cat. Some retired cats may begin feeling comfortable within a few days, while others may need several weeks or longer to fully settle in.Adult cats have already developed their own routines and have often lived in the same environment for a long time, so adjusting to new rooms, smells, people, and pets can sometimes take longer than it does for a kitten.We usually recommend starting them in a quiet, comfortable room and allowing them to explore the rest of the home gradually. Introductions to other pets should also be done slowly.Taking longer to adjust does not mean they will not form a strong bond with their new family—it may simply take a little more patience and time.

Many of these behaviors can improve after the hormones are no longer influencing them.However, every cat is different, and we cannot guarantee that every behavior will disappear completely. If a cat has any known ongoing habits or behavioral concerns, we will disclose them before placement.
